I give instrumental lessons at all levels, from Years 1 and 2 in schools to adult amateurs and music students. Face to face ensemble coaching usually involves Renaissance and Baroque fantasias, dance music and suites; conducting sessions can involve arrangements of choral and symphomic music too.
Group lessons online involve listening and playing individually, with continuous feedback from me and sharing of information - such as recommended music, books and broadcasts - within the class.
A growing part of my work is teaching music appreciation. This can be online or face to face. and details of classes will be available in the Spring of 2021.
Music workshops involve Tudor songs, dances and stories.
My qualifications includea B. A. [Hons.] in Music [Colchester Institute]; a Certificate in Performance [Early Music] from Trinity College of Music, London; a Diploma in Teaching Adults [City and Guilds]. I am also accepted as a conductor by the Society of Recorder Players, and hold a current DBS certificate.
