David Garrick and his Huguenot heritage [Hampton]

Saturday 07 June 2025
19:00 to 21:00

To mark the Reaffirmation Weekend of Richmond's twinning arrangements with Germany and France [details HERE], Bloomsbury Baroque will explore the Huguenot connections between David Garrick, the Barthelemon family and his other associates and contemporaries. This forms part of the ensemble's continuing theme of performing music from multicultural eighteenth-century London.

Diane Moore - Baroque Violin

Ibrahim Aziz - Baroque Viol [bass]

The background to the Huguenot community in England and the French influence on David Garrick and his work will be outlined by associates of Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare, and the music will be introduced by the performers.

Tickets on the door cost £16. Payment in advance is cheaper online [HERE], but is also possible by cash or cheque made out to Loki Music in an envelope left at Garrick's Temple. All are welcome to attend these concerts: no prior knowledge is required - just a willingness to listen.
